The drums don't fit.

Hmm...the drums don't fit very will. I think something a bit more organic/metallic would have worked a bit better. As it is, the drums and beat you're using sound a bit too hip-hop ish compared to the rest of the song.

TheUprising1 responds:

Eh, I myself like the drums as they are, and so do some other people I asked, so I guess this is a matter of preference.. I don't particulary care about genres.
Though I agree they might need a better mix.
Thanks for the review though.

....

Seriously, a review score of 2? Give me a break.

Not bad.

GrantProjectXero responds:

Meh, people have opinions. That's why newgrounds has the option.

Thank you :)

Pretty good.

Thing only thing I could say is that seems as though there's not enough bass throughout most of the song, and the balancing of the instruments felt a bit (the choir seemed a bit quite to me in some parts, for instance.)

Anyway, great job.

Cool

Makes me think of being on an abandoned space ship. But then again, that's probably because "Europa" sounds like a good spaceship name....

ANYHOW, great job. Very atmospheric and well done.

nameless11 responds:

thank you very much, there is much more ambient to be found on my profile : ) . Oh and I named Europa after one of the moons orbiting jupiter.

Damn

I don't know what it is about this, but it just has this chilling quality about it that invokes all sorts of visuals and sparks the imagination.

I just imagine it playing after a long, desperate struggle, as the hero stares up into the sky, knowing that they can die without regrets as his vision fades to white. The song feels sad and melancholy, yet at the same time, it also has this feeling of peace.

Good job.

Dextracompleximus responds:

Really? Awesome!

Thank you so much! I'm glad it sparked SOMEthing. xDD

Nice

Not bad, reminds me of FF Tactics.

CreamingStar responds:

Thanks Kiiryu! I haven't played Tactics in so long. It might be about time to bust out the ol' PS haha. Thanks for listening!

Hmm

For a song called "sad story" this doesn't sound very sad...

But anyway, I found that the drums were a bit too distorted, and at no point did the melody that was initially playing stop or change, so by the three minute mark the melody got pretty repetitive.

I mean, I know it's part of the genre, but try skipping forward by 20 seconds or so until the song ends, no part of it really stands out, it just blends together.

Pretty good

Nicely done. Makes me think of a calm during a desperate situation, so the title really fits.

Great.

Pretty damn good composition. Usually I'd say that nothing deserves a 10 unless it's an absolute masterpeice and give you a 9, but this really has character.

So, this will be the first 10 score I've ever given anyone. Now excuse me while I go listen to your other tracks...

SilentTakedown responds:

Just checked you account and you're right. I'm honored. :)
I also checked some of your songs. You have talent indeed! But looks like you don't spend too much time on a song.

I suppose you won't have much fun with my older compositions because my older songs arent that complex in the composition itself. That's why this is gonna be my new standard.

Thanks for reviewing!

Certainly messed up.

Haha, at the beginning I was like, "hey, this is pretty good, not weird at all."

Then the rest of the song happened...

But anyway, not much to say really, since I'm assuming with the exception of the voice the majority of it was samples. However I will say that even though it was weird and twisted at say, 00:28, the samples sounded pretty good together, but as the song progressed it just felt more random and less coherent.

But then again, it seems that was your intention...so "what am I supposed to say?", I'm sure there are plenty of people who will look for track like this to help create the feeling of complete madness.

DualityGod responds:

Yes, actually. Thanks for the review!
