Mixing issues, but good song

The song is pretty good, but the main problems are with the actual recording.

It sounds like you're recording a bit too close to the microphone when you sing. It also sounds like you either need a Pop filter, or at least least avoid singing directly into the microphone so you can avoid those "popping" noises. (an example of this is the first time you say "point" at 00:19)

You should also try singing a bit louder, but farther away from the microphone, as you come off as if you're trying not to be too loud, or as if you're not very enthusiastic (which obviously isn't the case). So singing a bit louder will probably bring out more strength in you're voice. It doesn't matter if it's too loud, since you can lower the volume later (assuming you record guitar and vocals separately)

Anyhow, that's all I really have to say. Good song.

8/10 for the song itself, not including the mixing issues.

Yeh, my microphone's a bit of trouble really. I don't use it often enough for it to be worth getting a new one, but I suspect that if I did get a better one, I'd use it more. Ironic, really. It also doesn't help that I don't have a microphone stand.

And yeh, I guess I do sing a bit too quietly. I'm a bit self-concscious about my voice, and I don't like having people right there in front of me judging me for it. I would sing much louder if I was the only person in the house, but those moments are few and far between, now.

Sounds great.

Though, is it just me or are there "breaks" in the song? You can hear what I'm talking about at 00:44, it's as if all the sound cuts out for a split second (kinda like when a non looped song repeats, since a song isn't looped, the reverb from the instruments doesn't carry over)

try turning on surround if you have it.. it takes some heavy gear to listen to the full scale of this song the so called "cut" isnt there its simply a change of instruments

i can say from viewing my editor that theres no space at all between them :)

Pretty good

Pretty good, nice and atmospheric.

My only complaint would be that the drums stand out a bit too much, I don't know what it is but they don't seem to fit too well with the rest of the song. It would have been cool to see something else keep the beat rather than you're typical bass and snare, like mechanical sounds or the sound of something striking medal (Something that would sound more like background noises).

Anyhow, great job.

Repetitive

It's just the same thing repeated over and over again, there's never a change of pace or any development, definitely not enough to constitute a four minute song.

Its a hip hop BEAT, Not a Classical song. Not Many beats have a moment of peace. They Are mostly used to rap on. why would i make it short? they all repeat. Well thats just what you think but thanks (i guess) for the review...
i didn't think it was necessary for me say its a beat because there are no words.

I find the fact that this song has a lower score than some of the poorly slapped together techno tracks on here...rather disturbing.

Twisted

Twisted, but I mean that in a good way. Feels like the basis for a good song, so I wish it would have developed a bit further past the main melody you used.

(of course, that's still better than having a 4 minute song play the same melody over and over, so I'm glad you kept it short.)

The main focus of the song is the guitar, and the guitar sounds horrible. Not necessarily the melody, but whatever vst you used.

Overall, it sounds pretty empty.

Hard to understand without listening to it more than once. Pretty sure there's supposes to be a "when" in there somewhere, but I can't hear it.

Not much to it, with the exception of the melody in the middle it's basically the same thing playing over and over again with slight variations.
