Good

Sounds pretty cool. Though I admit the vocal takes are flawed, some pops in there where it sounds like you're too close to the mic, or singing directly into it.

But to be honest I think it's less the take and more that the style of the vocals that doesn't really fit. It might have worked a bit better with some sort of effect to help them blend in with the rest of the song, since in general the song itself was fairly echo-e and dreamlike. Though this is entirely my opinion, since having clear vocals creates an entirely different atmosphere than distorted ones would.

Kor-Rune responds:

Thanks for the critique!

I did add reverbs, effects, or delays to my voice during the mixing stage, but it felt like it just didn't contrast enough, and the song had less character to it.

I wanted more of a pure voice in a dark, devoid, large atmosphere. Kind of like you're in that dark devoid atmosphere, and the singer is "speaking" to you, instead of singing into a microphone(the notes are way too low to suggest any real motivation for reverberation anyway).

Thanks again for your input!

Sounds good

Sounds good, gotta love harp arpeggios in orchestral songs. My only complaint would be that the volume levels of certain instruments seem a bit unbalanced at times.

Kinda dull

The melody's a bit dull, and small parts of it just don't work, not enough to hinder it's intended use, though.

Also, the drum isn't 8-bit (FL kick, if I'm not mistaken) so it doesn't really fit. I'll PM you a link to three free vsts used for 8-bit if you want to try them, (I'd post it here but apparently I'd be banned)

Distinctive

Well, it's distinctive, I'll give you that. If this were used as a theme for a group of antagonists it would work pretty well. (I just imagine playing a game, hearing the song and thinking "Oh shit, it's THEM, how am I gonna get out of this alive??")

Anyhow, pretty good just in terms of what it could be used for. (though I suggest adding something else rather than dialogue, since if it's looped background music it might not always work too well, as opposed to a one time song)

So so

The song didn't really feel right when it was going slow, and it takes too long to get to 1:56, where the speed feels right, and to 2:34 where the full drums kick in and the song feels "full". (the lead melody is also playing throughout the entire song, so even though it speeds up, it gets repetitive.)

I also feel like it would have had a bit more impact had the slow part been done with different instruments than the fast part, to make it more distictive.

Anyhow, not bad, but it just feels incomplete to me for some reason, and I don't mean the fact that there's no ending, as you said.

6/10

Why....why..

Why... did you use voice samples that come with FL? That's never a good idea, considering a lot of people use Fl and will recognize them instantly.

Anyhow, the song itself isn't half bad, but there are way to many voice samples used in it, it distracts from the actual song. (especially when they seem so randomly placed)

6/10 not considering the samples, but 3/10 with them.

Nothing wrong with it.

I like it, sounds like it would make a good continue screen.

I don't really see anything to complain about.

Good

I liked the intro, the reverb gave it a really cool effect.

Though, I had some issues with the song, for instance I expected the drums to take full effect at 00:22, since you used fast drums in the transition, but then they stop, and they don't really come in fully until 00:45 so it felt a bit unnatural.

I also think it would have had more of an impact if at 00:22 you had the drums and all the instruments (I don't know how many more you actually used than near the begging) playing like you did at 01:52

Anyhow, a bit rough around the edges, but over all it's not bad.

Enteroar responds:

Wow thanks for the great review.
1st: thats cus I sped up a sample 31 bpm xD
2nd: I used about 4 at the end, I only did that so it wouldnt seem as repetitve :P
3rd: Thanks Im still a noobie xD

Great

Sounds good, creates a pretty good atmosphere.

Could try changing up the velocity of the piano every once in awhile to give it a little realism, but I suppose it depends what kind of sound you're going for.

Anyhow, great song.

crazygamer88 responds:

thank you so much for listening. i greatly appreciate it. I'll change the velocity of the piano as soon as i mastered the mixing.

Great

Sounds great, impressive production quality.

mr-vincent responds:

haha, thanks a lot :)
