Not "full" enough

The lead melody in the beginning was pretty good, but the baseline was the same the whole time and didn't change based on the lead. The baseline changed later on, but you never repeated the first melody again so it was kind of a missed opportunity. You also could have switched the drums up a bit throughout the song, since they never really changed either. Also, what's the point of having a CRASH cymbal if you're going to make it so quiet?

It also felt like there was a lack of instruments, you only had one lead instrument playing at any given time so there was nothing for them to blend with, making the song feel a bit unfinished.

Hm..

It sounds like it's building up to something when it starts, but nothing really happens, so I think you should have a lead instrument kick in somewhere. Use something such as a violin or a piano to play a lead melody, and then pan the lead you've got now to the sides and use it more as backing rather than the focus of the song. Also, maybe some sort of bell-like instrument every now and then to compliment the long held notes of the violin/whatever you choose, and the short chopped notes of the synth you have already.

I use a rock band mic, hence the awful compression. How I wish I had a decent mic

Hm..

I like it, but it the synth voice limits it's uses. Where this could be used well in a dramatic moment in say, a game, the voices would just make it cheesy.
